Coronavirus and SMEs, message of WUSME President Gian Franco Terenzi

REPUBLIC OF SAN MARINO – March 30th, 2020 – I wish to send a message of support to entrepreneurs and all of those who are involved in small and medium-sized enterprises, in this time of crisis.

The recent spread of Coronavirus is leading to an unpredictable global health emergency the WHO and national health systems are facing with great commitment and abnegation.

As WUSME, we are aware this virus is greatly effecting the specific segment of SMEs. As a result, we will keep focused on the dynamic forces that companies will have to face and remain committed to assisting them in the future ahead, a time when initiatives, able to offer a future perspective, will be needed.
We certainly can’t ignore that the coronavirus will be a pandemic with long term effects and certainly leave a landmark sign, imposing significant changes and affecting the way we operate.
The international community, as well, will certainly compel us to follow pathways alternative to what we have been used to, so far.

We can’t ignore that human kind, itself, has been affected and will have to guarantee adequate protection for its existence, without ignoring the enduring climate change.
The health systems and related organizations are first and foremost there to protect our health worldwide.

This revolutionary change will have important consequences on our economic, institutional and social system and we will find it modified in the near future.

We will endeavor to raise awareness among Governments and local Authorities with proposals aimed at promoting the economic recovery and providing social support, as considered necessary also by the international community.
