Mr. Rodrigo Varela Villegas, Ph.D. in Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering – Colorado School of Mines. Emeritus and Distinguished Professor Universidad Icesi and Distinguished Professor Universidad del Valle. Founder and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Development at Universidad Icesi, Founder of the Latin American Congress on Entrepreneurship, and of the Master in Business Creation, at Universidad Icesi. Founder of the Industrial Engineering Program at Universidad del Valle.

He is an international Consultant in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Education, member of the editorial boards of several international journals. He has been twice member of the Board of Directors of ICSB, once member of the GERA Board, and member of the Research Innovation Advisory Committee of the GEM Project. He has been member of GEM Colombia since 2006 and he oriented the GEM Caribbean project.

He is a White L. Wilford Fellow of ICSB. He is an Emeritus Researcher and author of a significant number of books, reports and articles.
